Omar Apollo is back with his first single since releasing his debut album IVORY into the world last spring. “3 Boys”is a melodic, Motown-tinged track that showcases Omar’s skills as both a vocalist and a lyricist. “When I first started writing songs I would often write about unrequited love. Eventually I wrote songs about the complexities that come with a relationship. ‘3 Boys’ was my first time writing about something non-monogamous,” revealed Omar in a press statement about the new track. Role Model, “a little more time”
It’s been a big week for Role Model, aka Tucker Pillsbury. On Valentine’s Day, the musician hard-launched his relationship with social star Emma Chamberlain on the cover of GQ Hype. Only three days later, he’s back with a brand new single and music video — a visual that was in fact filmed and edited by his girlfriend Emma, and co-directed together by the couple. For those new to Role Model, his chameleon-esque discography truly offers something for everyone, as he oscillates between genres — pop, alt, Hip-Hop, punk, you name it — with a confidently skilled ease. The singer-songwriter has gotten co-signs from Mac Miller and Benny Blanco, and, well, naturally, Emma Chamberlain. We love a power couple.
