You Season 4 Star Penn Badgley Wants Cardi B to Kill Joe Goldberg

Everyone’s loving You season 4, and that includes Cardi B. The rapper has been moving like a fan account on Twitter ever since the latest season of the Netflix series came out on February 9.  

On the day of the show’s premiere, the “WAP” singer updated her profile picture to an extremely creepy screenshot from You, featuring Penn Badgley’s now legendary and nerve-shattering character Joe Goldberg peeping out of a window. If you’ve already watched, you’ll know the scene, but Cardi’s excitement this time might have something to do with the fact that the first episode of You season 4 features “I Like It,” the song she recorded with J Balvin and Bad Bunny that shot the Bronx rapper to superstardom even further.

Cardi’s love for the thriller series is well-documented at this point, and the appreciation is very much reciprocal. In a Rolling Stone interview, Penn said he would be in favor of the show’s die-hard fan making a cameo. “Would I want [Cardi B] to be in You? Yeah, if it worked,” Penn said. “I wanted her to be in Season Four. But it has to work. You know? How could she be anybody but Cardi B?” 

Not only is Penn down for a Cardi cameo, but he also revealed he’d be game with the Bronx rapper being the one to finally kill Joe Goldberg for good. (We’d love to see it too so someone, please get Netflix on the line.)

It’s worth noting that Cardi also has been on board for the potential cameo. Though it didn’t pan out this season, back in 2021, the rapper went as far as ideating a potential scenario for her scenes: Paris Fashion Week. The idea was a response to Netflix’s bio petitioning Cardi to guest star in Season 4. (Awk. Cue Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep.”) It’s never too late, though! Season 5 is yet to be confirmed but we’ll be manifesting this… Once again.
