Robert Pattinson to Play Serial Killer in Netflix Movie
Robert Pattinson is testing out his comedy chops in an upcoming Netflix film where he plays… a serial killer.
The Batman actor landed the lead role in Adam McKay’s forthcoming film, Average Height, Average Build, which follows a serial killer who persuades political lobbyists to change laws that would make it easier for Pattinson’s character to kill. Despite the dark material of the movie, it’s being described as a thriller/ comedy.
Deadline first reported the news.
Pattinson — who has come a long way since his vampire days in Twilight — will star alongside Amy Adams, who will play a lobbyist. Robert Downey Jr. is also cast.
Adam McKay, who is known for comedies including Stepbrothers, Anchorman, The Big Short, and more, is returning to Netflix for this film following the success of his 2020 apocalypse comedy Don’t Look Up. McKay wrote the script for Average Height, Average Build, and will direct the movie.
Much like Don’t Look Up, this upcoming film seems like it may also be a commentary on society. That movie was nominated for best picture at the Oscars.
Pattinson’s career has taken many twists and turns since his rise to superstardom following the Twilight saga. He’s since taken on many roles in darker films such as this one, including The Devil All The Time, Tenet, The Batman, The Lighthouse, and Good Time.
While his teenage heartthrob days might be behind him, there’s bound to be awards chatter around his character in this new film.
