Buzz Lightyear Costume Will Be a Hit With Kids This Halloween
A Buzz Lightyear costume is going to be hard to find this Halloween. With the new Toy Story 3-D movie coming out this October, little boys everywhere are going to want to be Buzz and stores have started stocking up. Wonder what is behind the mad rush; keep reading.
If you feel like it has been a long time since the last Toy Story movie. Well, it has. The first movie was released in 1995 and the second in 1999; a whole decade ago. That makes most of the kids today either not yet born, or too young to have seen either movie on the big screen. What does that mean? It means your kids are ready to see Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Jessie and Mr. Potato Head in an actual theater instead of on DVD.
Toy Story 3-D is actually a double feature. Theaters will be showing both Toy Story and Toy Story 2 with one intermission in between the movies. Both movies have been recreated in 3-D. That means 3-D glasses for added coolness and fun for kids. It will have your kids ready for Toy Story 3, also in digital 3-D, which is due out June 18, 2010.
The original Toy Story was the first movie from Pixar, a company owned by Steve Jobs. Pixar specializes in computer animation and created the animated the toys in the movie. That movie was famous for being the first movie created entirely on the computer. Now Pixar and Disney have combined forces to give it a digital makeover, more specifically in Disney Digital 3-D. John Lasseter who directed the first two movies, is overseeing the work on this one.
Toy Story 3-D still features the voices of Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear and Tom Hanks as Woody. Randy Newman provides the music. The original movie quickly inspired a line of toys, video games and other merchandise including Halloween costumes with the Buzz Lightyear costume being one of the most popular. This movie is expected to do the same.
After reading about the new movie I realized Buzz Lightyear would be a great costume for my son. I am sure that is what he will ask for after seeing the movie. Buzz Lightyear is a great choice for a costume if you want to keep your child safe from the more common Halloween costume hazards. Masks that slip down over the eyes can be very dangerous when trick-or-treating. Fortunately, this costume does not have one. Your child also will not have to carry any accessories. Swords, canes, and other props can become cumbersome and dangerous to a child trying to carry a treasured bag of candy.
