Dating Advice – First Date to a New Beginning

My dating advice to you when it comes to the first date is to relax! The first date is intended to be enjoyable, so unbutton the top two buttons from your shirt, loosen up your belt a little, and breathe. Cancel the dinner reservations, skip the movies, and just take it easy.

Like they preach in real estate: Location, Location, Location! The first date should always be used to enjoy someone and if you take my advice, no matter who you’re with, you’ll always enjoy your first date, whether or not there is an attraction. Since comfort is the key to an enjoyable date, do whatever it takes to bring endless feelings of joy and laughter. But in order to comfort someone, you yourself, should be comfortable. I’ll quote Gail Laguna when she said, “It’s great to meet another person in a relaxed environment like this, where it’s not like a typical first date or blind date. When you’re sharing experiences and adventures or common interests, there’s less pressure on you.” Where you go plays a major role on that occurring or not.

Now I know you don’t expect me to tell you where to take someone on the first date do you? I mean, that’s what the initial phone conversations were for wasn’t it? By learning just the basics about someone, you should be able to create a comfortable environment that you both can enjoy. As Gail Laguna previously mentioned, stop treating the first date like the first date, but instead, treat it as if it were your fourth or fifth.

Wherever you chose to go on the first date, just make sure it’s somewhere two people can communicate easily. I don’t think the bar and club scenes work too much. Once the interaction is lost, the first date will then become your last date. Choose activities instead of formalities. Take every moment to get to know your first date. The worst you can do is separate as strangers. In conclusion, treat your first date as a craft, not a task and with that, you’ll be more likely to have a memorable first date.
