Hart Cunningham is an environmentalist, musician, and retired software engineer. Over the past 40 years, he planted 40 million trees and amazed the whole world with this incredible feat. Now, his next lifetime target is to plant one trillion trees.

Hart’s mission is to plant a trillion trees. Over the past 40 years, he planted over 45 million trees and is on his way to reach his next target. The environmentalist cum musician aims to spend the next 4 decades planting one trillion trees.

Hart was only three years old when he had this dream to plant one trillion trees. He was in Dominica at that time. After two years, he moved to Nova Scotia and kept on working for this passion in an apple orchard.

At the age of 16, he had already planted more than 700 trees. At that time, he also joined Buckley High School Classes between 1993 and 1995. Hart spent 14 weeks working on his mission to plant trees on weekends in different parts of California.

He spent three semesters at the University of Washington, Michael G. Foster School of Business. In the meantime, he presented his thesis on his favorite topic “Economics Related to Humanity and Environment”. At that time, he was only 21 years old.

He continued his passion and love for the environment and nature. After a while, he got back to California to pursue his degree in Economics at Claremont Graduate University. Interestingly enough, at the age of 22, Hart was the youngest recorded to hit this target.

As Hart became financially stronger, his passion for planting trees skyrocketed. He became the ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ Finalist three times. And he kept on planting trees throughout his adulthood.

Hart funded a total of 19 aerial-based seed pods, which enabled him to hit his target of planting 45 million trees in 40 years. At the age of 38, he took early retirement as a software architect.

Hart has run for the President of the United States at the age of 42. His campaigns focused on finding solutions to climate change and inequality of income across the world.

Now, Hart aims to spend the next 40 years to turn his dream of planting one trillion trees into reality. He has dedicated himself to his lifetime goal of one trillion trees, and he is determined to serve Mother Nature even more. He also takes care of his physical health through contortion.
