Kendall Jenner Wore an Optical Illusion Dress That’s Kim Kardashian-Approved — See the Photos

Kendall Jenner donned a noteworthy look for the launch of Jean Paul Gaultier on FWRD. There’s a lot going on with the trippy and colorful ‘fit, but as it turns out, Kendall isn’t the first Kardashian-Jenner to sport a variation of the gown.

Before we dive into the family’s history with Jean Paul Gaultier, let’s start with the dress itself. The vibrant, off-the-shoulder gown was covered in dotted details. Spots in various hues made up much of the dress, creating the illusion of a bikini-like top.

Kendall’s custom Jean Paul Gaultier gown gave off bikini-top vibes, but look a bit closer, and you’ll note that it’s entirely a single dress. The fitted dress extended to the floor, and Kendall paired the look with large earrings and a slicked back ponytail.

As noted by W, Kendall’s custom ‘fit might look a bit familiar to Kardashian-Jenner fashion scholars. Back in February 2020, Kim wore a version of the JPG dress. For her take on the look, she chose sunglasses and boots. Kim’s previous Instagram photoshoot also featured a look at the back of the gown which gave the illusion of a thong. 

Kendall’s FWRD launch party included a major celebrity guest list, and both Doja Cat and Chlöe Bailey joined Kendall in wearing the designer’s colorful patterns. Chlöe chose a bright orange bodysuit, while Doja opted for a two-piece set.

Megan Fox, who was also in attendance, skipped the color and went monochromatic. Her all-white Jean Paul Gaultier gown was giving futuristic vibes with its corset body and keyhole cutout bottom.
