Some widely-spread social media posts after the Parkland Shooting

This is a collection of social media posts that spread rapidly after the gun shooting at MSD high-school in Parkland Florida (February 14, 2018). I’m actually a bit ambivalent about posting this, because this shooting is far from unique – similar shootings have happened in the U.S. over and over again (Fort Hood, Columbine, Sandy Hook, Virginia Tech, Orlando, Las Vegas, and so on). But during the immediate aftermath of Parkland, the students seemed to be more active in their social media posts. Often it was desperate attempts to write to family members, sometimes it was efforts to save their own lives. But the feelings they expressed aren’t any different than any other shooting – it just seems some of it was captured in digital form and spread around a little more than many other shootings.
