Taylor Swift Will Have A City Named After Her In Honor Of Upcoming Tour
Taylor Swift is getting a city named after her — temporarily, at least.
In honor of the pop superstar kicking off her highly-anticipated Eras Tour next weekend, the city of Glendale, Arizona will be changing its name to honor Swift.
Her first stop on the Eras Tour will be in Glendale’s State Farm Stadium — where this year’s Super Bowl was held — on March 17 and 18. Swift’s tour will include 52 shows in the U.S. and is her first stadium tour since the Reputation Tour in 2018. Needless to say, Swifties are excited about this one.
Glendale’s official social media account said that Mayor Jerry Weiers would announce the city’s new name in a Monday press conference. The city has been tight-lipped on what they plan on naming the town — “#GlendaleAZ is so ‘enchanted to meet’ @taylorswift as she kicks off the #TSTheErasTour at @statefarmstadium, that our city is taking on a temporary new name to welcome her in ‘style!’ Stay tuned for our exciting announcement from @mayorweiers coming Monday!”

Local news outlets reported that the city wanted to celebrate Swift kicking off her tour by doing “something highly unusual.” Some area restaurants are also expected to feature Swift-inspired menu items, and there will also be messages welcoming the singer throughout the town.
Swift announced the Eras Tour in November and since then, fans have been eagerly awaiting her return to the stage. Between a debacle with Ticketmaster, to Swift having to add eight shows to the line-up, the tour has already kept people on their toes.
The first leg of the tour officially kicks off on March 17.
