Which Iconic Met Gala Look You Are, According to Your Zodiac Sign

Google Sites

The Met Gala occurs once a year on the first Monday in May. It’s fashion’s most anticipated event, when our favorite celebrities and style icons grace the red carpet wearing beautiful decadent and amazing costumes. Some of the most iconic looks have changed the face of fashion as we know it — bringing trends to us directly from the event. TBH, there are so many amazing outfits that we had to use the cosmos break them down to find the most perfect looks for each of the zodiac signs.

Aries

Zendaya in Versace at the Met Gala 2018

As the warrior of the zodiac, Aries are known to be brave, feisty, and daring — with both their actions and personal style. At the Met Gala 2018, Zendaya’s sparking silver gown by Versace, which was crafted to channel and match the energy of the saintly “Joan of Arc” for the “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination” theme, exuded passion and bravado. Both Joan of Arc and Aries adhere to a fiery state of rambunctious energy, making them the defiant fighters and advocates of those in need and world-at-large.

Taurus

Most of the time, the Bull wears their hearts on their sleeves — and always on their chests — which is why this bright pink iridescent gown by Gucci for the 2019 “Camp: Notes on Fashion” theme resonates with the vibe of the tender and amorous earth sign who indulges in the finer things in life. Also, pink is the signature color of Taurus, making it their ideal look — even with the bloody heart in its center (that’s an excellent reminder of their lustful nature).

Gemini

Chlöe x Halle Bailey in Rodarte, 2021

Even though they aren’t twins like the infamous sign Gemini, these siblings proved to be a dynamic duo at the 2021 Met Gala which celebrated “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion.” By wearing juxtaposing colors, styles, and fabrics in pink and white, they totally embrace the opposing energy of the celestial twins whose differences unified them and show some sisterly love. Chlöe and Halley Bailey proved that siblings can rock the red carpet together — especially when wearing Rodarte and proclaiming “sisterly love.”

Cancer

The zodiac sign Cancer is known for having strong emotions, which means that they live in a cocoon to protect themselves. Since clothing is a shield or defense against negative energy, they’ll opt for a dress that brings out all the good in their life. The Cinderella-eque gown by Zac Posen for the “American Woman: Fashioning A National Identity” theme had all the sublime and dreamy features that bring Cancer their fairy-tale aesthetic without worrying about their carriage turning into a pumpkin at midnight.

Rihanna in Guo Pei, 2015

This legendary look for “China: Through the Looking Glass” could only be worn by Riri because like most Leos, she exudes confidence in all she does. The vibrant yellow color warms the heart of the lion, since the sun-kissed hue radiates heat and passion — two adjectives that describe Leo. No one can make a bold fashion statement like Riri, who leveled up her fashion game by wearing a dress fit for a Queen — making regal Leo proud.

Virgo

Beyoncé in Givenchy, 2016

Only a Virgo like Beyoncé can perfect the elegant, chic, and sophisticated look that the earth sign is known for. Virgos prefer tasteful designs that they can wear with ease which have cool and unique detailing like the flowers and bedazzlement on Beyoncé’s gorgeous 2016 Met Gala dress for the “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology” theme. The flawless look was put together with toned down makeup and simple hair — all of which harmoniously blended with this amazing nude latex Givenchy dress.

Libra

Evan Mock in Head of State, 2022

Libras prefer to wear soft colors that speak to their Venusian sentiments. In 2022, Evan Mock wore a beautiful buttery yellow suit by the fashion label Head of State for “In America: An Anthology of Fashion.” His look was playful, sophisticated, and stylish. Lovelorn and stylish Libra can appreciate the romantic design from the ruffle collar and corset in the pastel hue. Evan Mock looked like a knight ready to sweep us off our feet — which he did.

Scorpio

Katy Perry in John Galliano, 2017

Leave it to a Scorpio to come in hot to the Met Gala. Not only is Katy Perry a Scorpio IRL, but her dress personified the fervor and excitement of the intense and transcendent water sign. The crimson red Maison Margiela by John Galliano dress for the “Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between” theme turned up the heat and heads, allowing the world to see how radiant and powerful one look could be. This dress had a feverish energy — like every hot blooded Scorpio.

Sagittarius

Lupita Nyong’o in Prada, 2014

Sagittarians are known for their bold sense of style that defies convention. The fashion-forward zodiac sign relishes looks that are one-of-a-kind, with a humorous and adventurous spirit. Fitting the “Charles James: Beyond Fashion” theme, Lupita Nyong’o’s 2014 dress had its own distinctive charm and style that made it exciting, unique, and audacious enough for adventurous Sagittarius — the dress even sparkled and shined on its own, which is why the blunt and energetic fire sign would love to wear it.

Capricorn

Selena Gomez in Vera Wang, 2015

Although Capricorns usually wear elegant and conservative looks to events that aren’t very youthful — more often than not, they’re looking for a modern twist on a classic fit that transcends time and Met Gala themes. Selena Gomez’s white Vera Wang dress from the 2015 “China: Through The Looking Glass” Met Gala was dignified and sophisticated, as well as cheeky and coquettish — the way the sea-goat desires to appear and appeal to others (when they’re not acting too bossy).

Aquarius

Dan Levy in Loewe, 2021

Aquarians always speak their minds and seldom remain quiet on matters that are close to their heart, which is why they’re known to be political activists — like the way Dan Levy dressed at the 2021 Met Gala for “In America: A Lexicon Of Fashion.” His fit was inspired by artist and AIDS activist David Wojnarowicz. The look focused on the hate thrown at the LGBTQ during the AIDS crisis — also reminding us that there is more work to be done.

Olivia Rodrigo in Versace, 2022

Every Pisces (like Olivia Rodrigo herself) are drawn to glamor, magic, and art. When the three combine they’re able to create an object of beauty — in this case it manifests into the amazing lavender Versace dress Olivia Rodrigo wore at the 2022 Met Gala. The sparky cowl neck dress with sheer opera gloves was styled with butterfly clips in her hair and gave a Pisces approved nostalgic nod to the early aughts for “In America: An Anthology of Fashion.”
