Science Fiction and Fantasy Giants – The 10 Best Selling SciFi Or Fantasy Genre Novels of All Time

Google Sites

Here I’ve listed the best science fiction and fantasy novels of all time. These are my favorites, and it is in no way an exhaustive list. There is much more to read and many talented novelists who I have not mentioned. If you have any others that you believe should be on this list please add your suggestions in the comments.

1. Ursula K. LeGuin – The Earthsea Quartet. I love this book. The entire series is captivating and it’s simply impossible to put down. I’ve a short attention span so that’s saying something. The books grab you and keep you reading because they have such interesting characters, and the world is so real. I would recommend this book to anyone who’s interested.

2. Raymond E. Fiest – The Magician Series. One of the books I read when I was a teen and still one of my favorites. I can’t read through the whole series now like I did back then (because I know how it ends!) but I will still pick up the first book (or 3) and read them over and over. A truly fantastic series.

3. Terry Goodkind – The Seeker of Truth Series. I couldn’t bring myself to put this one at the top of the list but it came so close! The best author I’ve read, and such similar values to me. It’s not for everyone, but if you love this book, I’m sure we’d get along.

4. Frank Herbert – Dune. A classic. Simply fantastically written and totally out of this world. This book will take you further from where you are and embed into you values you never thought you could have.

5. Harry Harrison – The Deathworld Series. Short stories are some of my favorite and this author has mastered the art.

6. Harry Harrison – The Stainless Steel Rat. Another series that’s got comedy and intensity. Action and an impressive hero.

7. The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy. Ridiculous and amazing. The logic will blow your mind!

8. Joe Haldeman – The Forever War Series. One of the best books about the future I have read. It’s amazing how some of the things are so real these days!

9. Isac Asimov – I Robot. Not just a great movie. This book presents many of the problems such an advanced technological race could achieve.

10. The Day of the Triffids – John Windham. I read this book when I was in high school and never forgot it. I’m sure this is one of the reasons I love science fiction so much these days.
